In August 2014, I visited John of God in Brazil; and had a profound experience with energy.
Transpersonal Psychology views all therapy as Energy Therapy. In therapy, there is an exchange of energy between client and therapist. There is a shift of energy within, as therapy progresses and catalytic energy becomes available from a Transpersonal dimension.
One of the most powerful forms of Energy Therapy is shamanic healing. This ancient practice honors the spiritual dimension as the true healer. In shamanic wisdom, emotional or physical illness is considered to be the result of power loss, soul loss (psychic dissociation), or an energetic intrusion. Ritual and spiritual empowerment can disperse shadows in the mind and heart that are resistant to psychotherapy. If you come for shamanic healing, I will ask your Inner Self Helper to work with me in diagnosing the energetic problem. Depending on what is indicated, my Inner Self Helper and your Inner Self Helper will join together to meet the challenge. If you have an energetic intrusion, it may be that you have introjected someone else’s anger, fear or sadness. Your Inner Self Helper doesn’t want a foreign dynamic to live within you and will assist me to remove it.
If you have been abused as a child and want shamanic healing to address the issue, we may discover there are parts of you locked safely away so that the abuser couldn’t find them. You can not live fully when part of your self is unavailable. Shamanic wisdom teaches that each of us is born with spiritual guardians to protect us. They stand ready, when called upon. Sandra Ingermann, shamanic practitioner and healer, writes copiously about this process in her books, Shamanic Journeying and Soul Retrieval. I have been trained in alternative healing through The Foundation for Shamanic Studies. The Foundation offers universal techniques, those found cross culturally. There are, of course, outstanding practitioners who come from a specific Native American tradition. That, however, has not been my path.
I am sometimes asked if shamanic healing is in contradiction to religious beliefs. Understand that shamanic healing is a spiritual method, not a religion. You may bring your religious beliefs with you, as the healing takes place. Shamanic healing is a form of prayer which invites Divine intervention and honors the Divine in nature.
Shamanic healing can restore your personal power, rejuvenate you mentally, physically and spiritually and help you reclaim parts of yourself lost through trauma and personal history.
I offer shamanic healing when it is indicated or requested and I always use it with a client’s permission and openness to the process.
